Pretty, petite and plucky, Angharad Rees was a pixie of a performer who proved to be a powerhouse on stage (The Picture of Dorian Gray), on TV (Close to Home, Trainer), and on film (To Catch a Spy). The adorable ingénue made her boob tube debut as a maid in the televised play Man and Superman (1968). Ten years later, she appeared with Helen Mirren in the TV adaptation of As You Like It (1978). And imagining these two hotties together is just how we like it! In between, Ms. Rees could be seen on the big screen in the Hammer horror film Hands of the Ripper (1971) wherein she played the fictional daughter of Jack the Ripper. Of course, the chiller diller should have been called Rack of the Ripper since it features Angharad’s bare breasts. Nothing scary about that! The busy babe also portrayed the real life daughter of Winston Churchill in The Gathering Storm (1974). But it was the role of Demelza on the original Poldark (1975-1977) series that made her a household name. That is, if your house was across the pond. Yet Under Milk Wood (1972), which was released in the U.S., ensured American audiences would enjoy her assets. Although the drama stars Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and Peter O’Toole, the real scene stealer was Angharad’s panty-clad ass. Bottoms up! No wonder, a pub in Wales was named after her.
